Bertrand: Hello Fadi, 

Fadi: Hello Bertrand 

Bertrand: Could you please introduce yourself? 

Fadi: Sure, My name is Fadi Khoury. I’ve studied engineering at the American University of Beyrouth. Then I’ve done a master’s in Milano. And my late father being a diplomat, I’ve lived in many countries around the world. And for that purpose, I speak several languages. 

So, I speak English and French and Arabic and Italian.  Over the past 25 years I’ve been involved in preserving or restoring old architectural Heritage in my hometown in Lebanon. 

This is something I’m passionate about. In fact, my grandfather’s house was destroyed during the war. And I’ve rebuilt it as is stone by stone. And it took me nearly seven years to restore every single detail of this house. So this is something I wanted to mention about myself. 

Something I’m passionate about is the agrofood business. So I’m starting a winery very soon in my hometown. Also because, as you may know, in Lebanon, we have more than 50 wineries now and we are in the world radar of good wines, finally. 

40 years ago, we had three wineries there. Now, we have more than 55 to 60 wineries. So, this is something I’d like also to to work in.  And that’s it. 

Basically, this is what sums up who I am and what are my priorities or things I like to do.

Bertrand: Bonjour Fadi,

Fadi: Bonjour Bertrand

Bertrand: Pourrais-tu te présenter s’il te plaît ?

Fadi: Bien sûr, je m’appelle Fadi Khoury. J’ai étudié l’ingénierie à l’Université américaine de Beyrouth. Ensuite, j’ai fait un master à Milan. Mon défunt père étant diplomate, j’ai vécu dans de nombreux pays à travers le monde. Grâce à cela, je parle plusieurs langues. Donc, je parle anglais, français, arabe et italien.

Au cours des 25 dernières années, j’ai été impliqué dans la préservation ou la restauration du patrimoine architectural ancien dans ma ville natale au Liban. C’est quelque chose qui me passionne. En fait, la maison de mon grand-père a été détruite pendant la guerre. Et je l’ai reconstruite pierre par pierre exactement comme avant. Et cela m’a pris près de sept ans pour restaurer chaque détail de cette maison. C’est quelque chose que je voulais mentionner à propos de moi-même.

Une autre de mes passions est le secteur agroalimentaire. Je vais bientôt ouvrir un domaine viticole dans ma ville natale. En partie aussi parce que, comme vous le savez peut-être, au Liban, nous avons maintenant plus de 50 domaines et nous sommes enfin reconnus dans le monde pour nos bons vins. Il y a 40 ans, nous avions seulement trois domaines là-bas. Maintenant, nous en avons plus de 55 à 60. C’est donc quelque chose dans lequel j’aimerais aussi travailler. Et voilà. Fondamentalement, voilà ce qui résume qui je suis et quelles sont mes priorités ou les choses que j’aime faire.
