Bertrand: Hello Elodie

Elodie: Hello Bertrand

Bertrand: Could you tell us about yourself?

Elodie: Well, Elodie Cassart, I’ve been a chartered accountant for quite a few years now. I started my studies after high school. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do at the time. I arrived, so I said to myself: “well, I don’t want to go to university because otherwise I’ll never go. I don’t want to do preparatory classes because, overall, I didn’t really like the competitiveness, that mode of operation.” And then I thought: “oh well, I’m not doing too bad at school, so I ended up in an IUT.” And then there was Electrical or Electronic Engineering at the time, I thought: “Well, maybe that’s not for me.” Eventually, there was Marketing left. I wasn’t really motivated because at the time there was quite a bit of unemployment in marketing. So there was GEA, Business and Administration Management left. And in fact, I ended up on the path of accounting somewhat by chance. But as soon as I started, I really found my calling, a real passion for accounting. After that, I didn’t let go. I went all the way up to the chartered accountant diploma, a few years ago now. That’s what allowed me to create my firm, Prexilexis Paris. The principle is that we are a local firm. We are really focused on companies, on their well-being, their operation, their development. So we know our clients very well and that’s really our value today.

Bertrand: Before creating Prexilexis, did you work in other companies?

Elodie: Well, I cut my teeth in big firms, notably one of the big four on La Défense. And then, I went to a smaller firm. I did auditing, then I came back to accounting, and today I only do accounting.

Bertrand: So, why did you start Prexilexis? Why become an entrepreneur? Because that’s really what you became, right?

Elodie: At that time, especially when I created Prexilexis, I really wanted to do training. However, training is a bit difficult, especially when you’re in a big firm. So, I thought I wanted to create my own training company and at the same time I wanted to work as an accountant. Once again, I really wanted to combine accounting in both aspects of things. And so, creating Prexilexis Consulting allowed me at the same time to start teaching accounting courses in the entire accounting curriculum: DCG, DESCG, etc.

Elodie: Thank you, Bertrand.

Bertrand: Bonjour Elodie 

Elodie: Bonjour Bertrand 

Bertrand: Est-ce que tu pourrais nous parler de toi ?

Elodie: Alors, Elodie Cassart, je suis expert comptable depuis un certain nombre d’années maintenant.

J’ai commencé mes études après le bac.

Je ne savais pas trop ce que je voulais faire pour le coup.

Je suis arrivée, je me suis donc dit : “bah je veux pas aller à la fac parce que sinon je ne vais jamais y aller. Je veux pas faire une prépa parce que globalement la compétition, ce mode de fonctionnement ne me plaisait pas trop.” Et donc après je me suis dit : “ah bah tiens, je ne me débrouille pas trop mal à l’école, je vais faire un … donc je me suis retrouvé en IUT. Et puis là, il y avait Génie Electrique ou Electronique à l’époque, je me suis dit : “Bon là, quand même peut-être, ça le fait pas”. Finalement il restait Marketing. Je me sentais moyennement motivée parce qu’à l’époque il y avait un peu de chômage quand même dans le marketing. Donc il restait GEA, Gestion des Entreprises et des Administrations. Et en fait, je me suis retrouvé voilà sur la voix de l’expertise comptable un peu par hasard. Mais dès que j’ai commencé, j’ai vraiment trouvé ma voix, une vraie passion pour la comptabilité.

Après je l’ai plus lâché. J’ai remonté toute la filière jusqu’au diplôme d’expertise comptable, il y a quelques années maintenant.

C’est ce qui m’a permis de créer mon cabinet, donc Prexilexis Paris. Le principe c’est que l’on est un cabinet de proximité. On est vraiment axés sur les entreprises sur leur bien-être, leur fonctionnement, leur développement. Donc on connaît très très bien nos clients et c’est vraiment notre valeur aujourd’hui.

Bertrand: Avant avant d’avoir créé prexilexis, tu avais un peu exercé dans d’autres entreprises ?

Elodie: Alors, j’ai fait mes armes dans des grands cabinets notamment un grand cabinet sur la défense, un des big four. Et puis après, je suis partie dans un plus petit cabinet.

J’ai fait de l’audit, après je suis revenu à l’expertise et aujourd’hui je ne fais que l’expertise comptable.

Bertrand: Et alors, pourquoi avoir monté Prexilexis ? Pourquoi avoir été entrepreneur en fait ? Puisque c’est vraiment ce que tu es devenue ?

Elodie: A ce moment-là, alors, notamment quand j’ai créé Prexilexis, j’avais très envie de faire de la formation. Or, la formation c’est un peu difficile, notamment quand on est dans un grand cabinet. Et donc, je suis partie du principe que je voulais créer ma boîte de formation et en même temps je voulais exercer en tant qu’expert comptable. Encore une fois, j’avais vraiment envie d’allier la comptabilité mais dans les deux aspects des choses. Et donc, pour le coup, créer Prexilexis Consulting, ça m’a permis en même temps de commencer tout de suite à donner des cours de compta dans toute la filière comptable DCG, DESCG ets.
